Claudia
Tijman is an argentinean artist who has been based in Madrid since
1990.
Capable
and multi-disciplined her work spans both the applied arts and pure
arts fields. In the course of her career she has created sets for
professional theatre, commercial window displays, book covers and
promotional posters in addition to her many paintings and sculptural
works.
In
her jewellery she utilises many diverse materials: silver, gold, polyester
and vegetal resins. Her pieces are neat and simple shapes influenced
by nature and geometry. The designs reflect the qualities of the material
itself whilst incorporating ergonomic considerations ensuring that
they are comfortable for the end user. She also designs specific ranges
for museums based on the exhibits of a particular artist.
To date she has made over two hundred distinct jewellery designs.
In addition to Spain her work is distributed internationally, most
notably in the United Kingdom, Sweden and the Caribbean.
